Sometimes the most interesting things in life are not easily categorized. Here is an online sample of some items in the Talbot’s collection that are worthy of note, but don’t fit elsewhere.
This twelve by twelve inch cardboard wheel was designed to provide quick information on medical emergencies. By dialing to the emergency such a burn or broken bone, the user can find simple instruction on what first aid to render.
The wheel also provided a space for emergency phone numbers such as ambulance, police and fire. This was especially important in rural areas before the advent of the 911 emergency number.
On the reverse side of the wheel are detailed instructions on how to administer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation or CPD.
